Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties
This is pretty much bottom of the barrel gaming, added here for the singular purpose of mocking it and marveling just how such garbage could ever see the light of shelves in any gaming store. Plumbers Don’t Wear Ties is an FMV adventure, a statement which should already raise some red flags. But it’s not comparable to other bad FMV adventures like Star Trek Borg or A Fork in the Tale. On the contrary, those games can almost pass as works of art in comparison.
The game is a bit like a Choose Your Own Adventure in video format, only it sucks way, way more than any book ever could. The brain-dead plot is told through narration and real-life photos, with amazingly little animation or actual video footage to liven things up (the singular purpose of CD-Rom games were their multimedia capabilities). There are too few opportunities to seriously alter the plot, and the wrong move will reward you with a clip of a guy wearing a chicken mask telling you what you did wrong. Rinse, repeat, and cringe all throughout.
