Beach Head 2002 is simple yet becomes strangely addictive. As with the first game, you are placed in the middle of nowhere and have to battle it out with waves upon waves of troops, tanks and aircraft, all there to ruin your day with high caliber weaponry. You, of course, have to return the favor, and have the usual assortment of anti-infantry and anti-armor weapons. BeachHead 2002 is a defensive game – you can’t move or do much else besides swivel your turret and gun down bad guys in pure arcade fashion.
From a technical viewpoint, Beach Head 2002 is nice and stable. However, the game offers little extras. There are no new levels, enemies or weapons to be unlocked. After going through the first five or so levels, you’ve pretty much seen everything the game has to offer. A simple change of scenery or even a humble day-night cycle would have been welcomed.
